Baptism FAQs
Why baptism?
Baptism is a beautiful and public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolizes the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
Through baptism, we signify that our old life is gone and we are now living a new life in Christ (Romans 6:4). It is an outward expression of an inward change—a step of obedience to follow Christ’s example.
Jesus Himself was baptized, and He commands His followers to be baptized as a way to profess their faith (Matthew 28:19-20).
Baptism is not what saves us, but it is a powerful testimony of God’s work in our lives.
What is baptism?
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. It symbolizes the believer’s identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection and represents the washing away of sin and new life in Jesus.
Does baptism save me?
No, baptism does not save you. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Baptism is a step of obedience after salvation, expressing the transformation that has already taken place in your heart.
When should I get baptized?
As soon as you have made the decision to follow Christ. The Bible shows many examples of people being baptized immediately after they believed (Acts 8:36-38).
Do I need to be baptized again if I was baptized as a baby?
If you were baptized as a baby, we encourage you to be baptized again as a public declaration of your personal faith in Christ. Infant baptism is often a tradition, but believer’s baptism is a decision you make as an adult to follow Jesus.
